The Ayuntamiento de Valencia is a Renaissance building located in the heart of the old city, in front of the Town Hall Square. It was built in 1572 as the official seat of the municipal authority, and has been remodeled several times over the years. It has a splendid Baroque facade with a great arched entrance and six wrought iron balconies. Inside, there is a richly decorated meeting hall as well as a splendid oil painting of Alfonso III, the first king of Valencia. It houses the City Museum and the Valencian Institute of Modern Art. From the outside, you can admire its beautiful architecture and admire the beautiful views of the Town Hall Square. You can also explore the nearby art galleries and take a walk around the city.
