Aydapınar Ancient Ruins are located near the beautiful Mediterranean port of Gazipaşa, in Turkey. The ruins are unearthed remains of walls and towers dated back to Classical antiquity (6th - 4th centuries BC). It is speculated that the site was used as an acropolis, a fortified area on the top of a hill used as a citadel for administrative or religious purposes. There are two main excavations: a castle and a citadel with a temple. Besides the well-preserved fortifications, there are also some statues and other artifacts from the Byzantine period. Visitors can also enjoy the stunning views of the Mediterranean from here. It is an interesting historical site for those interested in learning about Turkey's past civilizations.
