📍 Canada
A.Y. Jackson Lake is a small inland lake in Killarney Provincial Park, north of Georgian Bay in Ontario. Named for Group of Seven painter A.Y. Jackson, it reflects the close association between Canadian landscape art and Killarney’s protected wilderness; Jackson was among the artists who advocated for preserving the area. The lake’s dark, often still water mirrors conifers, exposed rock and shifting skies, creating an intimate contrast with the park’s broader views of the pale La Cloche quartzite ridges. Its quiet shoreline and layered forest reflections convey the rugged northern scenery that drew generations of painters to Killarney.
