The Autotürme are twin glass car-storage towers at Autostadt, Volkswagen’s visitor and vehicle-delivery complex beside its factory in Wolfsburg. Automated lifts place new cars in the towers before their owners collect them, making an industrial process part of the public scene. Through the curved glass, vehicles appear in orderly tiers; from outside, the repeating pattern gives the towers their distinctive look. Reflections in the surrounding water add another layer to a view closely tied to Wolfsburg’s automotive identity.
