Atlas Fountain is a prominent structure located in the village of Meadowfield in North Yorkshire, United Kingdom. It was designed and sculpted by Helaine Blumenfeld, an internationally recognized British artist, in 2005. The fountain stands four stories tall and is composed of two interlocking S-shaped forms fashioned out of Corten-steel. The Atlas Fountain is a great example of Blumenfeld’s more abstract work, incorporating elements of motion and chaos while still maintaining a certain elegance and balance. The fountain serves as a great aesthetic addition to Meadowfield, as it captures the beauty of the peaceful English countryside. Its reflective steel exterior gives it a sense of harmony with the environment, allowing it to almost blend in with the trees and foliage. Visitors are sure to appreciate the comforting atmosphere that surrounds the Atlas Fountain, as well as its beauty.
