The Assumption Monastery Vtoroafonsky Beshtaugorsky is located in Lermontov, Russia and is a historical Orthodox church. Dating back to the 7th century, this monastery was originally built by Ivan the Great and is home to several priceless 15th-century frescoes which can be admired on the walls of the Cathedral of the Assumption. It is considered to be one of the oldest monasteries in Russia and has often been the site of important spiritual activity. As well as the impressive frescoes, visitors will also find murals, icons and frescoes depicting moments from the life of Christ. The monastery is now open to the public and provides a peaceful setting with plenty of captivating sights to explore for both photographers and travelers alike.
