📍 United Kingdom
Aslan is a bronze lion sculpture in C.S. Lewis Square in east Belfast, near the junction of the Newtownards and Holywood roads. Created by sculptor Maurice Harron, it forms part of an outdoor ensemble inspired by The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, celebrating the Belfast-born writer and his fictional world of Narnia. Aslan’s death and return in the story echo Christian themes of sacrifice and resurrection, giving the figure significance beyond its imposing animal form. The deeply textured mane and raised stone plinth make the lion a distinct focal point, while the other Narnia characters around the square place it within a wider literary scene.
