San Marino is an ancient walled city located atop Mount Titano in Italy's Emilia-Romagna region. It is the smallest and oldest existing sovereign state in the world, with a population of approximately 4,000. Its medieval architecture, cobbled streets, and ancient fortifications make for a fascinating experience for visitors. Historic sites of interest include the imposing Three Towers of San Marino, a 13th century defensive wall, Titano Theatre, a 15th century church, and the Town Hall museum. It also boasts picturesque views of the surrounding countryside, with rugged mountains, olive groves, and vineyards.
