ARoS Aarhus Art Museum stands in central Aarhus, close to the City Hall and Concert Hall. The red-brick, cube-like building houses Danish art from the 19th century onward alongside international contemporary works, while its soaring white atrium and spiral circulation create striking interior perspectives. The museum’s defining landmark is Olafur Eliasson’s Your rainbow panorama, a circular rooftop walkway enclosed by colored glass. As visitors move around the ring, the city skyline shifts through the spectrum, framing Aarhus Cathedral, modern towers, red roofs, and the surrounding landscape in changing bands of color. Seen from street level, the luminous rainbow halo also makes ARoS an unmistakable feature of the cityscape.
