The Arènes de Nîmes is an iconic Roman amphitheatre from 2nd century AD in the city of Nîmes in southern France. Built in accordance with classic Roman style, the amphitheatre is a gigantic structure, measuring 136m by 107m and forming a nearly perfect circle. It is one of the best preserved amphitheatres in the world and is a must-visit site for anyone who travels to the area.

The towering statue of Nimeño II is located close to the amphitheatre and is dedicated to Emperor Auguste. The sculptures was erected in 1827 to commemorate the anniversary of Auguste's accession to the throne. It is made of bronze and is strikingly impressive. The statue stands 28 feet tall and is one of the most popular attractions in the city.
