Aqueduct of Segovia
📍 From Plaza del Azoguejo, Spain
The incredibly beautiful Aqueduct of Segovia in Spain is an astounding piece of ancient architecture. Built using low-fired limestone, bricks, mortar and granite, the huge aqueduct was created by the Romans in the 1st Century AD and stands almost 30 metres tall. Its two tiers of 166 arches can be seen for miles around, and make for quite a sight. As it serves as a reminder of the considerable engineering know-how of the Romans, it's the perfect spot for history and art lovers alike. Explore the ruins and admire the details, like the flowers, animals and symbols carved into the stone. Stroll along the ancient stone walls and be awestruck by the impressive arches, borne up by four tiers of white pillars. For a stunning, no-filter view, seven of the arches provide a fantastic opportunity to take incredible photos.
