Anyksciai Church is a popular landmark in the small town of Anykščiai in northeastern Lithuania. The church is the ticket window for an insight into the past of this part of Lithuania, with a Baroque style architecture. The Church, built in 1744, opened in 1750 and is dedicated to the patron of the city, St. Mathew. The church has been mentioned in the Bible, which is why it is a popular pilgrimage site for believers. It also attracts visitors from all over the world, as it stands out from other churches in the community with its artistic presence. The building of the church is built using red bricks, further decorated by lacy stucco and medallions on the pediment. Inside, visitors can enjoy the Baroque charm of the great wooden ceiling and its iconostasis, which was made by the famous sculptor of Lithuania, Juozas Petreikis. To make the experience even more meaningful, visitors can go up to the bell tower and enjoy the view from the balcony.
