Angels Flight Railway
📍 United States
The Angels Flight Railway, also known as the “world’s shortest railway,” is a funicular railway located in downtown Los Angeles, United States. Originally opened in 1901, the railway provided transportation to property owners of higher elevations while ascending over Bunker Hill. Its popularity surged over the years and the railway even became a key landmark in the city. In 2011, the railway was reopened and still remains in operation today. While today it is an entertaining attraction for tourists, it initially served important transportation needs for the Californian community. This unique railcar experience will thrill visitors of all backgrounds and ages. Visitors can stroll up the hill or take a journey up this short, scenic track for a unique site-seeing adventure. The surrounding area is home to many other historical sites and attractions, from the Los Angeles Central Library to the Museum of Contemporary Art.
