The Ancient Egyptian Garden is one of the themed spaces at Hamilton Gardens, beside the Waikato River. It interprets the formal gardens of pharaonic Egypt rather than displaying ancient remains. Egyptian-style architecture, palms and a rectangular pool frame an orderly, enclosed landscape inspired by garden scenes in ancient art. The pool’s straight edges and reflections make the garden’s symmetry especially clear in photographs.
