Ambassador Bridge
📍 Canada
The Ambassador Bridge is a road bridge connecting the cities of Detroit, Michigan in the United States and Windsor, Ontario in Canada. It is the busiest international border crossing in North America. The bridge spans the Detroit River and makes travel between the two nations easy and accessible for cars, trucks and pedestrians. The bridge is owned by the Detroit International Bridge Company, which was founded by its first president, Joseph Bower. The Ambassador Bridge is a magnificent structure, with six lanes of traffic and a total length of 3,109 meters. The bridge is constructed with steel girder bridges supported by concrete piers and abutments, and is crowned with a 990-meter suspension span. For its age, the Ambassador Bridge is still an impressive sight, and although it may not be the newest on the block, it still provides an unparalleled view of the Detroit River and the skyline.
