📍 From Riverfront Trail, Canada
The Ambassador Bridge is a large steel arch bridge connecting Detroit, Michigan (United States) and Windsor, Ontario (Canada). It is the busiest international border crossing in North America, with more than 25,000 vehicles crossing it every day. The bridge was designed by the engineer Edwin Longhorne Sard with support from architect and landscape architect Edward P. Bassett. It was completed in 1929, making it the third longest bridge spanning an international border. It is composed of two cantilever spans, each 435 m in length and 6.7 m wide, held together by four suspension cables anchored to two towers. The bridge is owned by the Detroit International Bridge Company and offers fantastic views of the Detroit and Windsor waterfronts - a favorite spot for photographers. The Ambassador Bridge also has a dynamic light display at night - with a different color sequence each day - making it a unique and memorable experience.
