The Altare della Patria (Altar of the Fatherland) and the adjacent Via del Tempio della Pace (Temple of Peace Street) are two incredible landmarks in Rome, Italy. The Altare della Patria is a large marble monument dedicated to Victor Emmanuel II, the first king of Italy. It stands atop the Capitoline Hill and offers views of the Roman Forum and Colosseum. Inside the monument are murals and statues dedicated to the Italian soldiers who fought in wars, as well as other statues and memorials honoring important figures. The Temple of Peace Street is a beautiful tree-lined street that connects the Altare della Patria to the Piazza Venezia and the Palazzo Venezia. Along the street, visitors can find the Tempio Rotondo (Round Temple) and the Tempio di Vesta (Temple of Vesta), among other historical buildings. The street is a popular spot for taking tours or snapping stunning photos of the monuments and other points of interest.
