Altare della Patria and Le Domus Romane are two popular historical attractions in Rome, Italy.

Located atop the the Capitoline Hill, the Monumento Nazionale (Monument) Altare della Patria, or Altar of the Fatherland, was built in the early 20th century to commemorate Italian unification. Standing 38 meters (125 ft.) tall, this white neoclassical monument features sculptures of several Italian war heroes and a columned portico with a statue of the goddess of Rome, Roma. On the left side of the room, visitors can climb the stairs to the terrace for a 360° view of the city. Near the Altare della Patria is Le Domus Romane, a site made up of the archaeological remains of two grand Roman dwellings once used by the patrician class. Visitors can explore the remains of over 20 rooms filled with intact stonewalls and mosaics, as well as a small forum filled with a grid of Roman streets, villas and gardens. There is also a museum which displays archaeological artifacts found in the excavation.
