
Altar a la Patria, located in Ciudad de México, is a large monument dedicated to Mexico's greatest heroes and leaders. The 52-meter-high structure is flanked by large bronze statues of Emiliano Zapata, Francisco Madero, and Venustiano Carranza. Designed by Carlos Octavio de la Roza in 1812, the monument stands as a tribute to all those who have defended the country and sacrificed their lives for it. The grand steps that lead to the altar are a popular place for conferences, special gatherings and concerts. At the base of the monument, you will find a museum dedicated to Mexico’s history and heroes, such as Miguel Hidalgo and Josefa Ortiz de Dominguez. Furthermore, the inspiring views from the top of the structure make it a popular spot for sightseeing, offering a sweeping view of the busy cityscape.
