The Alexandra Bridge is a historic bridge that spans the Ottawa River connecting Canada and the United States. Built in 1901, the bridge was originally an international railway bridge, but it was converted to a road bridge in 1912. It is one of the most iconic landmarks in Ottawa and a beautiful sight to behold. From the bridge, visitors can look down the Ottawa River to scenic views of the city. There are two 10-meter-high towers at either end of the bridge that give visitors a great view of the river and the cityscape. Visitors can walk or ride across the bridge and stop at the observation area to take photos and enjoy the view. The bridge is also the site of some important military memorials and is home to full-size bronze sculptures of Canadian war heroes.
