Palenque is a small Mayan city located in the Mexican state of Chiapas. It is one of the most important archaeological sites of the Maya civilization, due to the impressive and well-preserved architecture of its ancient pyramids and temples. Visitors can experience the wonders of this ancient culture, by exploring the monuments, ancient frescoes and hieroglyphics, and the city’s archaeological museum. It is possible to take a guided tour of the site and many of the nearby ruins as well. Make sure to bring your camera for some beautiful shots!
