Albufera, located in Sueca, is a freshwater lagoon and wetlands sanctuary in Valencia, Spain. With an area of over 7500 hectares, it is one of the largest areas of natural wetlands in the whole Mediterranean coast. Home to over 160 species of birds, 400 plant species and an abundance of fish, it is a popular destination among bird watchers, fishermen, hikers and photographers. There are three scheduled boat tours where you can explore the area, with nearby restaurants offering delicious seafood dishes sourced from the lagoon's harvest. The nearby Carrer del Jesuset de l’Hort is a lovely spot for walks, with its picturesque path lined by date palms and gentle streams that wind along the riverside. Spanning over 4 kilometers, the trail is lined with handcrafted souvenirs stalls, with the locals offering fresh seafood, cheese and homemade wine. A popular spot for nature lovers, the area is a fitting backdrop for an exciting adventure.
