The Albany Covered Bridge, located in Albany, Oregon, is a historic wooden bridge and a popular tourist attraction. Built more than 150 years ago in 1856, the bridge is an excellent example of a Howe truss-style structure, which uses a lattice system of wooden and metal frames to support the weight of the bridge. The bridge is 169 feet long and is the longest covered bridge in Oregon. With Oregon's famous wet weather, the bridge offers shelter to pedestrians and local wildlife, making it a popular spot for strolling and bird-watching. The bridge also features an arched roof and arched windows, making it an especially beautiful spot on a sunny day. Be sure to bring your camera, as the bridge provides a wonderful snapshot into Oregon's past.
