📍 From Beach, United States
Alamere Falls is a spectacular cascading waterfall tucked away in the wild of Northern California’s Point Reyes National Seashore. The falls plunge over the top of a coastal bluff into the Pacific Ocean below, creating a refreshing spray and rainbow on a sunny day. A challenging 8.3-mile (13.3 km) hike takes you through environments including coastal chaparral, grasslands and fern forests, before you reach breathtaking views of Alamere Falls. If you're feeling adventurous, you can take a dip in the frigid beach waters beneath the entrance to the falls. Bring snacks, plenty of water and appropriate clothing for all weather conditions and temperatures. Bear, mountain lion and san francisco garter snake sightings are not uncommon.
