📍 From Giardino Aiuola Balbo, Italy
Aiuola Balbo and Giardino Aiuola Balbo are two historic public gardens located in the center of Turin, Italy. The two gardens are located in close proximity to one another and can be seen together in a single visit. The gardens were originally commissioned by Pier Aldo Marchi, from the Local Council of Turin in 1925. They are a combination of formal gardens with ornamental fountains, sculptures, decoration and a large collection of trees and plant species. The Aiuola Balbo, located on via Roma, is a rectangular garden filled with bushes and trees of various kinds. It features a neoclassical bell tower and an old stone wall (from the time of Casalis) which still stands as a reminder of the old city. The Giardino Aiuola Balbo, also located on via Roma, is a small garden – located on the corner in front of the large entrance to a building that used to be the Teatro Valle. With its green stripes of grass and a small pond, it is often the venue of concerts, art exhibitions, and small markets.
