Ahu Tongariki is the largest moai platform on Easter Island. It features 15 restored moai statues, some of which are over 10 meters tall. Each moai is carved from a single piece of volcanic rock and weighs around 12 tons. It is believed that the Ahu was built in the 16th century to commemorate the island's ruling class. Visitors to Ahu Tongariki can also get a glimpse of some of the island's other unique cultural artifacts including ceremonial houses, petroglyphs and a large ceremonial boat. It is a must-visit spot for those interested in learning more about the Rapa Nui culture and its archaeological wonders. Known as the "land "of statues", it is the perfect destination for exploring the mysterious past of the Polynesian people.
