Admiralty
📍 Russia
Admiralty is a historically significant landmark of St. Petersburg, Russia. It is located in the city center, near the Hermitage and Palace Square. Originally built in the early 18th century, it has served as the headquarters of the Imperial Russian Navy since 1704. In its center stands the spire of the Admiralty, which has become the symbol of the city. Inspired by the Dutch Republic’s Admiralty of Amsterdam, it has a massive mall of storehouses which can be viewed from the Neva river embankment. The Admiralty is home to the biggest shipbuilding complex as well as a few attractions which include a navy museum, observatory, and two naval academies. The complex also houses some gorgeous parks and gardens which are worth exploring. The Admiralty is a great place to spend an hour or two in sightseeing and relaxing.
