
Abbey Orval is an abbey situated near the French border in Belgium. It was built in 1132 and since then has been one of the most important sites of pilgrimage in the country. It features a Romanesque-style church and a cloister, as well as beautiful gardens and a historical museum showcasing its past. You may be lucky to see some of the monks still living in the abbey. The abbey is surrounded by stunning landscapes so it's ideal for landscape photographers. It is easily accessible by car, public transport and bicycle. Make sure to take a tour inside the abbey and take your time to explore its lovely gardens. Don't forget to take home some famous beer and cheese produced locally!
