Abbey Island is a 7-acre densely forested island located in Hoh, United States. It was named after its first search party and chartered by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service as a wildlife sanctuary. Since then, Abbey Island has become a popular destination for nature lovers and photographers alike. Being small in size, visitors can embrace the picturesque beauty of the Hoh rainforest in its pristine settings. On the island, visitors will find a variety of bird species like the American dipper, Pileated woodpecker, Vaux's swift and the Pacific Wren, which makes it ideal for birding and nature walks. Visitors home also take a kayak trip around the island, which is a great way to appreciate the shoreline of the island. Aside from its natural beauty, Abbey Island is well known for its stunning views of the surrounding area and Olympic National Park. There are no trails on the island. However, visitors can explore the beaches and take in the wonderful views.
