Corniglia is a small village on the Italian Riviera in the Cinque Terre region of Liguria, Italy. The village has an iconic terraced hillside, with a nearly vertical drop to the sea. Set atop the cliff, the village has many narrow cobblestone walkways and small stairways leading down to the sea. The traditional houses have colorful doorways, the streets are lined with small shops and restaurants, and there is lots of beautiful vegetation to explore. A rugged, beautiful coast can be seen from the village, with the hillsides of the Cinque Terre area in the background. Corniglia is located near the centre of the Cinque Terre, making it a great base for day trips in the area. There are many beaches around the village, as well as opportunities to explore the trails that run through the villages and along the coast. There is a small but exquisite Museum of Botanical Gardening in Corniglia, which is a perfect place to spend an afternoon away from the beach. Besides these must-see activities, there is a small fishing port and a beautiful harbour with picturesque views. The village of Corniglia is a great place for those looking for a relaxed Italian holiday experience.
