New Synagogue in Berlin, Germany, is one of the most iconic buildings in the city. Built in 1866, it served as the main center Jewish worship until it was heavily damaged during the World War II bombings. The synagogue was later reconstructed and reopened its doors in 1995 to become one of the most visited tourist attractions in the German capital. Visitors of Synagoge can take in awe at its majestic architecture and intricate details, while hearing stories of the German-Jewish history of the city. The synagogue also offers interactive exhibitions, educational activities, and guided visits to keep the public engaged and informed. Inside the building are two prayer halls, the exact replicas of the two that used to exist in the pre-war times, and a museum, which tells the story of the Jews of Berlin over six centuries. The New Synagogue's outside grounds host a Jewish Cemetery and Jewish Resource Center.
