Tserkov' Vozdvizheniya Chestnogo Kresta Gospodnya

Tserkov' Vozdvizheniya Chestnogo Kresta Gospodnya, or The Church of Resurrection of the Precious Cross of Our Lord is an iconic and historically significant landmark of Darna, a small Russian city in the Kaluga Oblast. The church, built over a century ago, is a predominately Russian-style white-painted wooden construction. The walls are adorned with a beautiful, intricate gilding, while the domes are painted in a variety of colors, including yellow, blue and green. The entire building is surrounded by a large garden with cherry and lilac trees, providing the perfect backdrop for picnics and outdoor activities. Inside are stunning frescos dating back to the 19th century, with images of Jesus Christ and the saints. The site also holds several memorial plaques dedicated to local veterans who risked their lives for the greater good.
