Torre del Mangia

The Torre del Mangia is an iconic Tuscan tower located in Siena in the Italian region of Tuscany. The tower was built in the 13th century and stands as an impressive 97 meters tall, making it the tallest building in Siena. A Latin inscription near the top reads, "Know the world and you will understand Siena better." The tower is a beautiful sight, with its traditional Brunelleschi-style bell tower decorated with white and green-striped marble. Visitors can climb the 500 steps up to the top of the tower and enjoy sweeping views of the town and its red-tiled rooftops. For a bird's eye perspective of the famous Piazza del Campo, visit the terrace on the other side of the tower. From here, you can also enjoy the cobbled lanes, churches, and buildings of the old town.
