Santuario di Santa Maria della Vita

The Santuario di Santa Maria della Vita is a beautiful church and sanctuary located in the centre of Bologna, Italy. Built in 1520, it was originally a place for pilgrims to visit and pray at, but later became a place to honor the Our Lady of Life. The interior is covered in baroque and renaissance frescoes, painted by leading artists of the day, and the main altar is surrounded by 17th century stuccos. The sanctuary also features six marble reliefs around the altar in honour of the Virgin Mary. The building is decorated in gold and white with large arched windows and a domed ceiling.
