Pontifical Basilica of Saint Michael

The Pontifical Basilica of Saint Michael is a Roman Catholic church located in Spain. It is dedicated to the Archangel Michael and is the seat of the Bishop of Alcalá de Henares. The original basilica was built in the 5th century, but it was rebuilt in the 12th century in Romanesque style. The interior of the basilica is adorned with beautiful frescoes and mosaics depicting various scenes from the Bible. It is also home to the tomb of Saint Justus, the first bishop of the city. The basilica is open to the public for worship and guided tours, but photography without flash is only allowed with prior permission. Visitors should also be aware that the basilica is closed on Mondays and during religious ceremonies.
