Palazzo Ottagonale
📍 Germany
Palazzo Ottagonale is a neoclassical villa located in the city of Berlin, Germany. The building was built in 1798 by the Prussian General Clemens von Kamecke, who, during his retirement, built the villa as a replica of the classical octagonal Roman temple at Bagac in Turkey. The architecture has a massive exterior, with eight huge stone pillars in the center and a further eight in the corners to support the roof, while on the interior features huge rooms and an amazing staircase in the middle of the rotunda. Inside you can also find the Prussian War Museum, which shows pieces from the Prussian State between 1713-1933. Visiting Palazzo Ottagonale is a great way to gain insight into the rich and exciting history of Berlin.
