Marktplatz Lübeck

Marktplatz Lübeck, or the marketplace of Lübeck in English, is a vibrant and picturesque square at the heart of the city of Lübeck. Located in the old town, the Marketplace is popular with both visitors and locals alike. It is surrounded by the colorful, half-timbered buildings typical to Northern Germany, and the city's Gothic-style Town Hall. Adjacent is the magnificent Holstentor, a gate to the old city. At the middle of the square is a large fountain, with a statue of the Roman goddess Minerva. The square is surrounded by a number of cafes and restaurants, ideal for taking a break and enjoying a meal or a drink. This is also a regular spot for city fairs and concerts. In total, Marktplatz Lübeck is a great spot to meet up and explore the city of Lübeck.
