Manhattan's Skyline

Manhattan's skyline is one of New York's most iconic images. Viewed from the water or from a rooftop, the island affords a magnificent display of modern architecture, from the Empire State Building to the Freedom Tower. Governors Island, located only a few minutes by ferry from Lower Manhattan, is also an ideal spot for viewing the skyline. Its hills, located in the center of the island, allow for stunning views from even further distances. Popular activities on both islands include walking around the harbor for sunset views, visiting many of the open green spaces, and exploring the different neighborhoods.
