La Seu Vella

La Seu Vella is an ancient Roman and Gothic cathedral located in the heart of the city of Lleida in Catalonia, Spain. The cathedral was founded in 1209 and was the seat of the court of justice and the diocese of Lleida until the end of the 18th Century. The interior of the cathedral consists of three naves with an impressive high altar and a large rose window. Other notable features of La Seu Vella include a cloister, two 13th-century bell towers, galleries, chapels, and mosaics. Visitors to the cathedral also have the opportunity to explore the Royal Palace and the Old Town Hall of Lleida, both of which are located near the entrance to the cathedral. La Seu Vella is considered to be one of the most important and beautiful monuments of Catalonia and has been given UNESCO World Heritage status.
