Indiana Dunes State Park

Indiana Dunes State Park is a nature preserve located along the southern shore of Lake Michigan in Porter, Indiana. The park is composed of 15 miles of pristine beaches, hiking trails, and sand dunes rising up to 200 feet above the beach. It is also home to numerous unique bird species, including bald eagles, ospreys and migrating birds like plovers and sandpipers. It also has a variety of plants, including the rare and very delicate Pitcher Plant. The park is open year-round and offers visitors the opportunity to experience the natural side of Indiana. There are spots for picnics, fishing, beachcombing, swimming and sunbathing, making it a great destination for nature lovers and outdoor adventure seekers.
