Hinter Lake

Hinter Lake is located in the breathtaking Ramsau bei Berchtesgaden valley in Bavaria, Germany. This picturesque alpine lake is perfect for a hike in the summer or winter months, as the views remain spectacular year round. Hills with lanky trees, rolling alpine meadows, and snow-capped peaks provide a backdrop to the cobalt blue waters. Well-marked trails lead you to several nearby waterfalls and viewpoints, including one that overlooks the majestic Watzmann mountain range. In the winter, frozen snow blankets the lake and softens the scenery - but only for a short time as there are lots of opportunities for skiing and other activities.
