Chiesa Parrocchiale di San Saturnino

Chiesa Parrocchiale di San Saturnino is an ancient Catholic church located in the small town of Mocchie, Italy. Established in the 8th century, the original building made from wood was destroyed and later was reconstructed in 1149. The current building features Romanesque and Gothic elements, and its main entrance is a 16th century made from Pietra Serena. Inside, there are various frescoes from the 16th and 17th century relating to lifes and stories of Saints. During Holy Week, the town of Mocchie hosts a local festival that congregates huge crowds in the church's portico. Visitors can expect to get a sense of true Italian history and culture, and find some peace and silence within the church walls.
