Château Royal d'Amboise

Château Royal d'Amboise is a magnificent Renaissance style château situated in the heart of Amboise, on the banks of the Loire River. Built during the 15th century, this picturesque castle is one of the most important and beautiful monuments of the Loire Valley. Surrounded by magnificent gardens and commanding stunning views of the river and the rolling countryside beyond, is a great attraction for photographers. It was once the home of King Charles VII, pining away here as his Queen lies dying in Tours. Inside, a grand museum tells of its illustrious past and its walls of the castle proudly displays collections of furniture and carvings from the château’s storied heyday. A visit to the castle’s chapel, built during the 16th century, is absolutely essential.
