Bomber Command Memorial - United KingdomjanportugallBomber Command Memorial📍 United KingdomThe Bomber Command Memorial in Greater London, United Kingdom, is dedicated to the 55,573 servicemen of the Royal Air Force Bomber Command who lost their lives during World War II. The monument, designed by Liam O’Connor, comprises two saluting figures, flanked by four stone spires, that stand central in the memorial garden. There is also a bronze sculpture of a heavy bomber aircraft representing the Command, and a glass wall engraved with the names of those honoured. The memorial is located in the Victoria Embankment Gardens, close to the Churchill War Rooms and the Ministry of Defence. Visiting the memorial is free, with the recent addition of an audio guide available in the visitor centre. Here you can learn about the human cost of the conflict, and see a number of artifacts and photographs.
