Battery Nordmole - WWII bunker

Battery Nordmole is one of the most significant fortifications of the World War II in Klaipėda, Lithuania. Located on the west side of the port, this bunker was constructed at the beginning of WWII and served as an observation post for tracking ships approaching the Klaipėda port. Battery Nordmole consists of four parts, two of which are underground and two of which are above ground. Visitors can explore the bunker and get a glimpse of its history, by looking at the bunk beds, gunnery and ammunition storage. The bunker can also be used as an impressive backdrop for unique photography. The views from the top of the bunker offer a breathtaking panorama of the city and the sea.
