Andersonville National Cemetery

Andersonville National Cemetery is the final resting place of fallen American soldiers from all eras, located in Andersonville, United States. Spanning across 13.4 hectares, the memorial is divided into 69 sections, where names of 13,000 interred souls are recorded. It is managed by the National Cemetery Administration of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. The cemetery and Fort Sumter, which is significant to the American Civil War, are surrounded by a brick wall, and are maintained with exquisite care. The Confederate Memorial Chapel and the National Prisoner of War Museum are located within the grounds, which depict the history of the site and its symbols. Visitors from afar come to pay respect to the patriotic veterans and their sacrifice. It is visited throughout the year and is free to enter.
