Alte Oper

Alte Oper, or Old Opera House, is a cherished landmark in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Constructed in 1880, it is one of the country’s iconic examples of architectural grandeur. The building is located in the heart of the city, at the intersection of two bustling streets, the Alte Oper Plaza and the Goetheallee. Alte Oper holds a variety of attractions which include the iconic auditorium and concert hall, a small theater, and a museum. A grand fountain centered around the equestrian statue of the German Emperor William I is placed in the courtyard. As the Opera is an important part of the city’s culture, a number of concerts and cultural events are held here throughout the year. It is a sight to behold, and worth a visit, especially to take in its impressive architecture and interior design.
