Van Goghkerkje

The Van Goghkerkje is located in the small village of Zundert in the Netherlands. Built in 1853, it is a stunning sight. Inside the church, the walls are adorned with 48 green and gold tiled images, created by Dutch artist, Karel Aalbers. The church was actually designed by Vincent van Gogh's grandfather and it was here that the family would worship. Outside, the church is surrounded by a picturesque view of the parishioners' grazing cows, a little stream and beautiful vegetation. Those wanting to visit the church should plan ahead, as it is only open to the public for a few hours a day. Visiting the Van Goghkerkje is a unique experience, offering a unique insight into the environment Van Gogh grew up in.
