Unesco Werelderfgoed Kinderdijk Molens

Unesco Werelderfgoed Kinderdijk Molens is a set of 19 windmills built in 1740, between the Netherlands cities Alblasserdam and Nieuw-Lekkerland. They are considered as the oldest still operational windmills in all of the Netherlands. The windmills are an important part of the Dutch cultural landscape. An artificial embankment, the Alblasserwaard, was built around them to prevent flooding.
