Sam Houston Statue

The Sam Houston Statue is a monument to the famous Texan War hero and statesman in Houston, United States. Standing a towering 25 feet tall, the bronze statue, erected in 1925, depicts Sam Houston astride a horse – his signature style – and faces the downtown skyline to symbolize Houston’s tremendous growth as a modern American city. On either side of the statue a granite wall contain 17 brass plaques, which depict various aspects of Houston’s life and his contribution to Texas history. It is located in Hermann Park at the intersection of MacGregor and Montrose. The monument is a must-see for those interested in Texas history, and there is plenty of open space in Hermann Park near the statue to do a photoshoot.
